Mt Carbine Tungsten Mine
Mt Carbine is EQR’s flagship Australian tungsten operation, located in Far North Queensland. Historically one of the world’s major tungsten mines, Mt Carbine has been brought back into production by EQR and re-established as a leading Western source of tungsten supply.
The operation combines open-pit mining, historical stockpile retreatment, TOMRA XRT ore sorting and gravity processing to produce tungsten concentrate. Alongside EQR’s Barruecopardo operation in Spain, Mt Carbine forms a core part of EQR’s position as the leading Western tungsten producer.
With established infrastructure, granted mining leases and a large tungsten resource base, Mt Carbine is strategically positioned to supply secure, reliable, non-country-of-concern tungsten into growing global demand. EQR’s growth pathway at Mt Carbine includes opening up multiple ore faces, accessing the high-grade Iolanthe Vein package, advancing resource and reserve conversion, assessing underground mining potential, and strengthening its regional presence within an established tungsten cluster.
The operation also produces quarry by-product materials, supporting regional infrastructure and circular-economy outcomes.
